Life Story for Althea Woodruff (Collier)

Althea Woodruff was born in September 1, 1932 the only child of Dorothy Adams, and Anthony Collier. Althea was united in holy matrimony to Eddie Woodruff on December 25, 1952 (who preceded her in death on August 20, 1994) from that union they had five children. They joined Christian Faith Baptist Church later moving their membership to Christian Tabernacle Baptist Church.

Althea retired from Detroit teacher’s credit union in 1997 after
nineteen years of service. In 2003-2005 she worked for Foster
Grandparents of Oakland County where she was a teacher’s aide.
Her favorite pastime was spending time with her children,
grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed playing
games on her iPad and surfing the internet. She was always there
for her family, no one ever heard the word “NO” in her
vocabulary whenever a helping hand was needed.
She also enjoyed going on bus trips to the casino.
On Tuesday, April 8, 2014 Althea made her transition.
She leaves to cherish her memory: daughters Patricia, Phyllis,
and Roslyn (son-in-law Undra Rice) Sons Kenneth and Kevin,
Brother in law Earlee Moore (sister in law Florstein) ten grandchildren,
ten great-grands, nephews, nieces, and a host of family
and friends.

I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he
live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.
St. John 11:25-26
